I woke up with my blood red eyes staring at the black ceiling. I had the same dream, or might I say nightmare again, wondering if it meant anything. It was one o’ clock in he morning in Big Rock, Alabama; everyone’s lights were still off. I looked through the window and the sun was slightly coming up. I kept thinking about that dream. Those doors blue, red, blue, red, which one to pick?
“Molly it’s 10 A.M. time to walk the dog”
“Ok mom” I said, “Sit” I said when I attempted to put the leash on Max. I finally walked out the door and on to the boiling hot pavement. It was 92 degrees on a hot summer day and I forgot to wear shoes. I had to walk back to my house to get them but I didn’t feel like bringing my dog so I tied the leash to a tree and happily skipped back to my house. I was rummaging through my shoe closet when I heard a rustle in the bushes. I ran back to the tree to only see THE TAIL of my dog wiggling around. I screamed!
I was staring at the bloody tail thinking what to do. I finally decided that I would go out on an expedition and find the other half of my beautiful, silky, shiny, black Labrador Max.
It was already five in the afternoon and I was walking around putting up flyers: Lost Dog Please Call 1 310 924-0649 Reward $100 (I’m a kid I don’t have much money). I started to sadly walk back to my house when my phone vibrated. I answered and an old lady started talking, “Oh my sweetie I think I found your dog just come to my house 6949 Auburn Lane and I will give him to you darling”
“Ok”, I responded a little creeped out. “ What time”, I asked.
“Only at the witching hour dear. I’ll see you there”, she said then hung up.
The clock chimed, it was finally twelve o’clock, the witching hour. I was drowsy and I barely could walk but I had to go save my dog max and for once be the hero.
I finally arrived at 6949 Auburn Lane. The house seemed so familiar. I knocked on the door and it opened by itself. I got a queasy feeling in my stomach. Then I remembered my dream. In front of me were the same doors except scarier. The red one had blood dripping all over it and a key drawn on it but the blue door had a neon snake slithering across it hissing at me. I finally decided to pick the red one. I carefully opened it to see my dog being chased by something. I started to follow them and they led me to two more doors. This time they were yellow and purple but nothing hissed at me and there was no blood just two doors standing in my way. My dog and the unknown thing went in the yellow door so I thought I would pick that door but something inside of me told me to go the other way, that this way was just a trap. I went through the purple door and something flashed at me. It was like a lightning bolt but it was a flash back of the time the old lady called me and told me to come to this house. A shiver crawled down my spine. Then the electricity went off. When it came back on I saw the same old lady except the second half of her was shaped like a python. I started to run for my life. After a minute I lost my breath and stopped. I noticed that in front of me were four doors, all different colors. I could hear the slithering coming closer and closer so I bursted through the black door which most people think is a bad idea.
Epilogue
When Molly walked through that black door she found her self in a little German cafĂ© with a plate of something that looked like sausages but didn’t smell like meat! She soon found out that that was her dog and she ran out of the door trying to keep her scream to herself.
Molly would never forget that experience even if she could. Every night she would the same horrifying nightmare she had when she lived in Big Rock. Molly has always wondered what happened to her mom but never found out. When she was 32 she got married but the family didn’t have enough money to take care of the 6 children, 1 toddler, and 1 newborn still in Molly’s stomach. Molly ended up dying when she gave birth, but the baby lived and grew up to be a world wide famous singer and actor.
